Rotterdam Roots :  Feyenoord Stadion

Where It All Began: The iconic Feyenoord Stadium, originally built in 1937 and an official Dutch architectural monument was coming to the end of a life cycle. The facilities for sports & hospitality were outdated, the technical installation far from functioning for modern times and the financial status was devastating with a complex organization structure and no budgets available for maintenance. So how to unravel this Gordian knot and offer the Stadion Feyenoord as sanctuary of Dutch football a new phase of life

Being from Rotterdam and passionate about the Kuip as Feyenoord fan, we got the opportunity of a life time to tackle this job.

Starting with a stadium concept developed from the center spot of the pitch; the business case, the financing and the architectural design were transformed into a spectacular plan where everything came together into a state-of-the-art football temple for both Feyenoord and the Dutch national team. This captivating redevelopment included the famous “surgical procedure" in the fine steel construction for the best hospitality  facilities and the characteristic design of the roof. Key to the project was preserving the unique design principles from the 1930s, including the sense of magic and myth—the soul of the stadium—while also enhancing the club culture in this impressive upgrade. Today, " De Kuip" is still regarded as the premier and most intense football stadium in the Netherlands.

Dancing Domes : Arnhem & Gelsenkirchen

In the context of the Belgium Dutch bid for the UEFA Championships of Nations, the Netherlands needed another top venue to present in the candidacy. In Arnhem the club Vitesse and clubsponsor NUON saw the opportunity to boost the club future by using this moment to convert a dream into reality. With our trackrecord we were invited to step in and deliver a state of the art stadium. First we aligned big regional companies as partners in this development to provide financial support and give a clear statement to financing institutions and media.. The momentum got bigger and bigger, and within a year a feasible plan was presented to UEFA KNVB and the townhall in Arnhem. The start of the Gelredome was a fact.

The development and realization of the Arnhem Gelredome, the first stadium in Europe with both a retractable roof and a retractable pitch is based on creative thinking and strong engineering : a unique steel beam gliding principle taking from the shipping dock industry was the basis of all, This innovative concept was later built on a larger scale for Schalke 04.(" Arena auf Schalke") Both in Arnhem  and in Gelsenkirchen the multifunctional stadiums can host a variety of events beyond football. Many famous artists like Madonna, U2, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Michael Bublé, and many others have performed here. Also cross-country skiing, boxing or Christmas events were held, all demonstrating the true multifunctionality of the stadium.

Rodeos and Texans: Reliant Park Houston

The stadium,(now NRG Park), was the first NFL stadium (national football league)  with a retractable roof and natural grass. It is the home to the Houston Texans and the Houston Livestock & Rodeo.Because of that it required a state-of-the-art technical infrastructure for completely different events. First of all it is the stage of the biggest Rodeo and life stock cattle ranching event in the world., attracting more than 2.5 million visitors. For more than 3 weeks. long from everywhere ranchers and cowboys show up big time in the stadium and surroundings. For Texas sentiments is mostly meant the arrival of a new football team besides the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Texans How about that rivalry !!

At Siemens Peter delivered an solution, with new urban infrastructure and a comprehensive building technology solution for the Reliant Park. From an urban development perspective, he provided an integrated transport solution that also serves the huge NRG Convention Center. The metro light rail system that was realized has an annual ridership of almost 14 million passengers, making it the second most-traveled light rail system in the Southern United States.

The stadium technology facilitates a multifunctional concept that also hosted many concerts from Pop to Rock and country music. This year it is hosting soccer games for the Copa America 2024 and will be a host stadium for FIFA Worldcup 2026. But being a Texan`s football venue the absolute milestone for this 72.200 visitor stadium was when it hosted the NFL superbowl
